Project Type: Long-term ongoing engagement Hours: 3-5 hours per month (initial cleanup may require additional hours) Location: Fully remote About Us: We are an established commercial construction company seeking an experienced freelance accountant to handle specialized construction accounting methods and clean up prior year records. What We Need: Primary Focus: Completed Contract Method and Percentage of Completion accounting - Monthly reconciliation and general ledger postings in QuickBooks Online - Clean up and reconcile 3 prior years of construction contracts - Prepare accurate reports for tax preparation purposes - Ensure compliance with construction industry accounting standards Required Qualifications: - Must have: Proven experience with Completed Contract Method accounting - Must have: Experience with Percentage of Completion Method - Must have: QuickBooks Online proficiency - Must have: Construction industry accounting experience - Must have: Experience with multi-year contract reconciliation - CPA or relevant accounting degree preferred - Knowledge of construction tax implications and reporting requirements Project Details: - Historical contract cleanup spanning 2 tax years (80% complete, just a few adjustments needed) - Monthly ongoing maintenance once cleanup is complete - Preparation of reports and documentation for external tax preparer What We're Looking For: - Detail-oriented professional who understands construction project accounting complexities - Someone who can work independently with minimal supervision - Strong communication skills for monthly check-ins - Ability to explain complex accounting treatments in simple terms To Apply: Please include: 1.
