Position Summary:

The Estate Security Officer is responsible for providing physical security, access control, and protective services for a private residential estate. This role ensures the protection of the estate’s occupants, visitors, staff, property, and grounds through active monitoring and enforcement of security protocols. The position requires full compliance with the California Bureau of Security and Investigative Services (BSIS) regulations, including all licensing and training requirements.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Conduct perimeter checks, property foot patrols, and inspections of all access points.
  • Monitor surveillance systems (CCTV), alarms, and access control devices in real-time and respond to anomalies.
  • Maintain entry logs and enforce established access protocols by verifying the identity and authorization of all visitors, vendors, and contractors.
  • Respond promptly and appropriately to security incidents, disturbances, or emergencies, documenting all actions taken.
  • Prepare and maintain clear, accurate reports for all incidents, patrol activities, and shift summaries in accordance with company standards.
  • Assist in coordinating emergency preparedness procedures, including evacuations and liaising with first responders.
  • Maintain current knowledge of estate-specific security post orders and emergency response protocols.
  • Uphold client confidentiality and conduct all activities with the highest level of discretion and professionalism.
  • Report any safety hazards, maintenance issues, or security concerns to supervisory personnel immediately.
  • Ensure all actions taken are in accordance with applicable state regulations and company policy.

Required Qualifications:

  • Valid California BSIS Guard Card.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to pass criminal background screening and drug test.
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States.
  • Possession of current BSIS Exposed Firearms Permit.
  • Current CPR/First Aid/AED certification.
  • 2 years prior experience in estate security, executive protection, law enforcement military, or private security operations.
  • Familiarity with security technologies and incident management software.
  • Demonstrated ability to remain composed and professional under pressure.

Physical and Environmental Conditions:

  • Must be able to perform duties in both indoor and outdoor environments, including exposure to varying weather conditions.
  • Must be able to stand, walk, or remain in a fixed position for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds and respond to emergencies quickly and safely.
  • Must be able to commit to and maintain an assigned schedule.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $38.00 - $40.00 per hour

Expected hours: 16 per week
