Job Description: Permian Resources (NYSE: PR) is currently seeking an Environmental Manager in Midland, Texas. The Environmental Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and managing all environmental compliance and sustainability programs across Permian Resources’ operated assets in the Delaware and Midland Basins. This role ensures the company’s operations meet or exceed all applicable federal, state, and local environmental regulations while driving continuous improvement in emissions management, waste handling, water stewardship, and spill prevention. The Environmental Manager will lead a team of environmental professionals and serve as the primary liaison between PR field operations, regulatory agencies, and corporate leadership. Key Responsibilities: Regulatory Compliance & Reporting Ensure full compliance with all federal, state, and local environmental regulations (EPA, NMOCD, RRC, TCEQ, BLM, etc.). Oversee preparation and submission of all required permits, reports, and notifications including: Air permits (NSPS OOOO/OOOOa/OOOOo, Subpart W, Title V, etc.) SPCC and SWPPP plans Produced water, waste, and recycling reports GHG inventory, TRI, and ESG disclosures Maintain PR’s environmental compliance database, ensuring accuracy, audit readiness, and traceability of all submissions. Coordinate with Operations and Engineering to ensure permit conditions and recordkeeping requirements are incorporated into daily field practices. Air Emissions Management Lead PR’s air compliance and emissions reduction initiatives, including LDAR programs, flare optimization, and pneumatic conversion projects. Oversee data management systems that support quad O compliance tracking, CEMS data, and emission inventories. Partner with Production Engineering to identify and implement methane and VOC emission reduction technologies and performance KPIs. Water & Waste Management Oversee waste characterization, handling, transportation, and disposal to ensure compliance and minimize liabilities. Partner with Midstream and Water teams on produced water reuse, recycling, and disposal strategy. Support operational planning and vendor management for waste minimization and beneficial reuse initiatives. Spill Prevention & Response Maintain and update SPCC Plans, ensure facility inspections, and coordinate containment upgrades as needed. Lead or support spill response and remediation efforts, including documentation, root cause analysis, and agency reporting. Track and analyze spill trends, developing proactive mitigation programs across the asset base. Field Operations Support Provide hands-on environmental support to field teams in Carlsbad, Hobbs, Eunice, Pecos, and San Angelo. Conduct periodic field audits, inspections, and training to ensure compliance with permit and plan requirements. Serve as an environmental subject matter expert for construction, drilling, completions, and production operations. Regulatory Agency Interaction Serve as the primary contact for environmental regulators (EPA, NMOCD, BLM, TCEQ, RRC). Manage agency inspections, audits, and enforcement actions in coordination with Operations and Legal. Maintain strong relationships with regulatory agencies, advocating for pragmatic, operations-friendly solutions. Team Leadership & Culture Lead and mentor a team of Environmental Specialists and Coordinators supporting both NM and TX operations. Foster a “Culture of Execution” by promoting accountability, ownership, and proactive compliance. Collaborate with Production, Facilities, and Engineering leaders to integrate environmental performance into operational planning. Data, Analytics & ESG Oversee data collection and validation for PR’s corporate sustainability and ESG reporting. Support corporate efforts to track and communicate GHG reduction progress, water intensity, and spill metrics. Leverage technology (e.g., Spotfire, ProntoForms, digital LDAR tools) to automate compliance workflows and reporting. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, Geology, or related field (Master’s preferred). 7+ years of experience in environmental management in upstream oil & gas (Permian experience preferred). Deep knowledge of EPA Subparts W, OOOO/OOOOa/OOOOo, NMOCD, TCEQ, RRC, and BLM regulatory frameworks. Proven experience with air permitting, LDAR, waste management, and water compliance programs. Strong leadership, communication, and relationship-building skills. Proficient in ESG data systems, compliance databases, and digital field reporting tools.
