To support their continued growth, they are now seeking a Regional Environmental Coordinator to join their team, reporting to the Head of HSE – Americas.
In this role, you will be responsible for implementing and managing environmental policies across Facility Management operations and office environments in the region. You’ll support operational teams in meeting environmental requirements and contribute to global environmental initiatives, audits, and projects as needed.
Job Description & Responsibilities
- Provide Environmental support to all FM operations e.g., engineering & maintenance, soft services, catering operations etc. and Project Management.
- Support and coordinate the annual Environmental & Sustainability plan delivery and ensure that the plan activities are implemented at site level.
- To support the company Environmental Management System and ensure policies, procedures and work instructions are maintained and communicated to relevant personnel and are consistent with the requirements of organizations’ policies.
- Champion and Evaluate performance and ensure continuous improvement and closure of gaps between current practice and requirements.
- Developing, manage & implement Environmental legal requirements
- To support the Clients Environmental/Real Estate Manager in delivering site Environmental requirements when applicable.
- Support the site-based teams in incident investigation to identify appropriate root causes, and to ensure the quality and accuracy of incident reports, and effective close out of incident actions
- To champion the rollout of HSE initiatives and campaigns for the region.
- Plan, execute and monitor Environmental audits and assurance activities and timely action closeout for the Region.
- Support Global HSE in the management, review & development of the IREP management system globally & other HSE global initiatives.
- Support the Regional Operations Manager in the Environmental deliverables of the contract.
- Guide site teams in the region to adopt the Environmental and Waste management activities to in accordance with the Environmental Management plan & local legislation and statutory requirements.
- Work with contractors to develop appropriate bridging documentation between company Environmental Management System documents and contractor processes.
- Ensure submission of monthly and annual Environmental reports are delivered promptly internally & to IREP’s clients.
- Evaluate & approve contractors through IREP’s procurement process.
- Promote a positive safety culture and good safety behaviors across the operations.
Essential & Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
- Diploma in any Environmentally related course or University degree Bachelors or Masters in the discipline of science, or Environment management.
- Experience of 4+ years in an Environmental role in the facility industry or similar industry.
- Experience with ESG strategy
- Good understanding of Federal law relating to Environment.
- Good understanding of State law relating to environment in the location you are based
- Good planning, analytical and organizational skills.
- Excellent communicator (written and verbal) in English.
- Highly developed Presentation, training, and coaching skills.
- Ability to prioritize and deliver on multiple tasks.
- Readiness to travel to client sites when required.
- Computer skills, such as word & excel.
- Working knowledge in Management Systems, Incident management, Incident Investigation.
- Recent relevant experience working directly for clients.
- Additional HSE certifications such NEBOSH, IOSH etc., or equivalent.
- Experience working for an international company.
- Experience of working with multi-cultural teams.
- Environmental Auditing experience.
- Good understanding of State law relating to environment in other states
- Fluent in Spanish. (preferred)
- HSE Auditing experience.
