  • Description
  • This position will collaborate with experienced engineering team members and cross-functional teams to support the design, development, testing, and delivery of new products and support of existing products. The ideal candidate will supply knowledge in the area of electrical design.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist in PCB layout, schematic design, and schematic capture
  • Perform PCB layout reviews and schematic reviews
  • Prototype and troubleshoot new designs
  • Help with circuit testing, measurements, and debugging using lab equipment
  • Support component selection and BOM management
  • Document and summarize test results
  • Learn and use ECAD
  • Learn and use test equipment (DMM, power supply, oscilloscope)Assist in the design, analysis, and implementation of new products, existing product support, and engineering solutions
  • Support senior engineers with data collection, prototyping, testing, and documentation
  • Plan, draw, and fabricate housings, jigs, fittings, fixtures, test cables, and other devices to assist in manufacturing and assembly
  • Participate in design reviews, brainstorming sessions, and problem-solving efforts
  • Troubleshoot issues (processes, setups, and some product issues) in manufacturing; assist manufacturing with troubleshooting issues and run troubleshooting experiments for engineering to determine root cause of failure
  • Learn and apply industry tools, techniques, and best practices
  • Conduct engineering tests, collect test data, write and present reports of test results
  • Collaborate with cross-functional team members in a dynamic development environment
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge
  • Contribute to departmental efforts by accomplishing related tasks as needed, and other tasks as assigned
  • Requirements

Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field (required)
  • Basic understanding of core engineering principles and development tools
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • High attention to detail
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to read/understand schematics, PCBs, and mechanical drawings
  • Strong algebra/math skills
  • Strong analytical and creative problem-solving skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and engagement skills.
  • Eagerness to learn, take initiative, and work in a collaborative environment
  • Ability to multitask and remain highly organized with proven ability to manage time and meet deadlines, developing effective organizational systems as needed.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions

  • ADA Consideration – Sedentary work: Exerting up to 15 pounds of force occasionally (exists up to 1/3 of the time) and/or a negligible amount of force frequently (exists 1/3 to 2/3 of the time) to lift, carry, push, or pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time, but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time.
  • ADA Consideration – Dexterity: Manual and finger dexterity needed to perform repairs and adjustments. Must be able to work with steady hands and have visual acuity to identify issues and make proper alignments.
