Northrop Grumman, Space Systems, is seeking a Designer or Principal Designer in our Digital Design & Integration team supporting several locations within Propulsion Systems with home location at the Promontory, UT facility. Role description & Responsibilities: The successful candidate will work under general instruction in the Digital Design and Integration group supporting modeling, drafting, and engineering. The successful candidate will have responsibility for modeling and drafting of mechanical components, electrical harnesses, assemblies and design support in the aerospace industry. Specific roles and responsibilities for this position include the following: Create 3D geometric models Annotate PMI models, and/or create drawings using Siemens NX design tool Create and maintain part, assembly and electrical harness models per NG and program modeling procedures Investigate design solutions Provide drawings for next generation rocket motor design Assist in the definition, development, and qualification of design changes Apply acquired jobs skills and knowledge to achieve targets – technical, cost, and schedule This requisition may be filled at either a Designer 2 or Principal Designer 3 level. Basic Qualifications for level 2: 2 years of CAD related experience (Siemens NX preferred) BS in Mechanical Engineer Degree OR Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering. Technical expertise with CAD modeling, Siemens NX preferred Experience working in a team setting Excellent written and oral communication skills Excellent time management and organizational skills Detail oriented but able to understand the big picture Preferred Qualifications: Experience with Siemens NX with PMI in Teamcenter Unified Architecture Experience in Engineering Design, Drafting, Manufacturing or Quality Basic Qualifications for level 3: 5 years of CAD related experience (Siemens NX preferred) BS in Mechanical Engineer Degree OR Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering Technical expertise with CAD modeling, Siemens NX preferred Experience working in a team setting Excellent written and oral communication skills Excellent time management and organizational skills Detail oriented but able to understand the big picture Preferred Qualifications: Experience with Siemens NX with PMI in Teamcenter Unified Architecture Experience in Engineering Design, Drafting, Manufacturing or Quality Primary Level Salary Range: $77,200.00 - $115,800.00 Secondary Level Salary Range: $95,300.00 - $142,900.00 The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
