  • Summary: The Employment Support Specialist integrates the personal growth of NEWS employees with Noble’s services and the needs of business partners

Duties/Responsibilities

  • • Provide oversight at multiple work sites across Indianapolis region
  • • Serve as liaison for program to coordinate supported employment and Vocational Rehabilitation services
  • • Develop and deliver work and life skills training based on individual needs, including retraining and support services as necessary
  • • Assist with recruitment, placement, and training of NEWS programs at all sites
  • • Conduct job development, analysis, and resource and compatibility assessments based on individuals’ skills, abilities, needs, and goals
  • • Lead or support person-centered planning meetings for assigned cases or upon request Stay informed about NEWS activities across all sites to support organizational flexibility
  • • Coordinate with manager and team to facilitate coverage in the event of staff absence.
  • • Support individuals in resolving service-related issues
  • • Seek out and/or act on opportunities to engage in advocacy efforts that preserve the rights of persons served.
  • • Perform other related duties as necessary or assigned

Education and Experience

  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Must have a high school diploma or G.E.D
  • One year of work experience with individuals with disabilities and/or practical experience in a human services field preferred
  • Working knowledge of frameworks common to disability services practices, especially those most broadly subscribed to by Noble such as the LifeCourse Framework
  • Must maintain CPR and First Aid certification and must stay current on all other training as defined by state, accreditation body or organization guidelines

Physical Requirements

  • Prolonged periods of sustained activity including standing, walking and light lifting (2 – 20 lbs.)
  • Must have ability to lift/move materials weighing up to 50 lbs. periodically
