We are a very early-stage startup based in Tokyo. We’re gearing up for our first pre-seed fundraise and need your expertise to craft the market narrative and financial story that will make investors say “yes” on the first meeting. ⸻ 🚀 What We Need (Your Mission) We’re looking for an exceptional startup-savvy analyst and/or VC-experienced professional who can: 1. TAM/SAM/SOM Sizing • Accurately quantify Japan’s residential rental tech market (including foreign renters, property managers, and aging infrastructure opportunity). • Incorporate market insights from sources like competitor, government, and publicly available data. • Support geographic and/or product expansion modeling potential (e.g. ex-other cities/markets with similar market dynamics, other verticals, etc). 2. Competitor Intelligence & Market Positioning • Analyze comps • Identify market gaps and tech advantages to strengthen our strategic moat. 3. Financial Modeling & Valuation Story • Build simple but credible 3–5 year startup financial projections (top-down and bottom-up hybrid OK). • Model realistic CAC/LTV, pricing models, user growth, margins, and burn. • Justify pre-seed valuation ask with logic investors understand. 4. Investor Narrative Collaboration • Work directly with the founder to align on tone, clarity, and deck readiness. • Help communicate why this team, now, in this market is a massive early-stage opportunity. ⸻ 🧰 Must-Have Skills • Fluent in early-stage startup fundraising dynamics • Deep experience with TAM analysis, financial modeling, and storytelling • Bonus: VC, consulting, or accelerator (YC/500) background • Proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets, Pitch deck structuring, and investor materials ⸻ 🥇 Ideal Candidate You are not just a freelancer.
