- Job Goal: The Director of Athletics & Mission Integration will serve as the lead for Middle School athletics. This position is responsible for ensuring that our athletic program and teams are aligned with the school's mission and vision. The position is responsible for making sure that Christ is the center of every athletic program by connecting and promoting faith, service, sacramental, and devotional opportunities for all sports teams and athletic activities. This role also includes coordinating events, managing athletic schedules, overseeing game day operations, leading coaches, ensuring compliance with regulations, and providing student-athletes with a safe and positive experience.

Performance responsibilities
- Serve as the Middle School contact and be responsible for leading Middle School Athletics.
- Responsible for ensuring our 6th-12th-grade athletic teams are aligned with the mission and vision of the school by promoting faith, service, sacramental, and devotional opportunities within all sports teams and athletic activities.
- Ensure fidelity of 6-12 use of the Sports Leader or school-chosen tool for the advancement of the mission in athletics.
- Collaborate with the school's Chaplain to connect 6th-12th-grade athletics with spiritual development.
- Responsible for coordinating the scheduling of games, practices, and events for all middle school athletic teams and updating our online calendar.
- Responsible for hiring, training, and evaluating middle school coaches. Ensure regular and relevant professional development for all middle school coaches.
- Facilitate preseason meetings with middle school coaches to review the school’s policies, procedures, expectations, and goal setting. Conduct post-season debrie?ng meetings and evaluations.
- Lead consistent check-ins with middle school head coaches during the season and once a month with middle school head coaches out of season to provide support.
- Assist in the development and implementation of policies and procedures for the athletic department.
- Game administration coverage.
- Collaborate with the Director of Marketing and Communications on correspondence to constituents, social media, and media presence for middle school athletics. Ensure all branding guidelines are followed in the middle school athletic programs.
- Assist in developing and managing the middle school athletic budget.
- Assist in managing middle school team uniform budgets and help create a rotation of purchasing new middle school uniforms.
- Order and maintain inventory of all middle school athletic uniforms and equipment.
- Represent JPII at HVAC meetings.
- HVAC Representative: Understand and communicate bylaws to MS coaches, ensuring JPII maintains compliance within the conference.
- Serve as the lead with the Junior Knights program, connecting to high school and middle school sports teams and clinics.
- Lead and coordinate our 8th Grade Recognition Nights.
- Direct coaches in leading their MS seasonal sports banquets.
- Track itemized team fees for MS athletic programs.
- Coordinate within the athletic department regarding middle school gate and concession needs.
- Assist the athletic department in leading preseason coaches' training or in-service training.
- Work with middle school coaches to develop a plan to promote multi-sport participation in the MS.
- Assist the athletic department in establishing a summer workout program option for our middle school student-athletes.
- Serve as liaison with parents, student-athletes, and athletic leadership.
- Manage middle school head coach to parent issues.
- Help organize parent meetings for middle school sports teams' preseason teams with middle school coaches.
- Serve on the athletic administrative team.
- Provide support with the athletic administration by assisting in various roles, ensuring efficient operations, and helping with various tasks required to maintain the department’s efficiency across all areas as needed.
- Serve as a middle school or high school coach based on athletic department needs and experience.
- Teach PE classes as needed, no more than two sections.

Qualifications
- · Active faith life and membership in a Christian church.
- · Athletic administration experience or experience as a head coach.
- · Ability to interface and maintain effective working relationships with students, parents, faculty and staff, alumni, and guests.
- · Willingness to collaborate with academic staff to ensure that student-athletes are supported and succeed academically and on the field.
- · Demonstrated leadership and mentoring skills.
- · Understanding of and passion for the school’s mission and values, and an ability to articulate this internally and externally.
- · Ability to think strategically and plan for athletics with the greater school goals and priorities in mind.
- · Expertise in project management: prioritize multiple requests and meet deadlines.
- · Good stewardship of equipment and capital assets.
- · Model a leadership style that is open, supportive, collaborative, and respectful of staff.
- · Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- · Ability to work collaboratively in building and leading successful teams.
- · Physical demands include lifting equipment, riding on buses, driving activity buses, attending outdoor events with possible inclement weather, and being able to walk stairs and across campus.
- Classi?cation: Full-time, 12 months, Exempt Position. Requires travel, plus evening and weekend work.
