  • Trax USA is seeking a results-driven and strategic Director of Hosting Operations to lead and scale the delivery of our hosted solutions for global aviation customers. This role owns the P&L for Trax’s hosting business and is responsible for ensuring the stability, performance, security, and customer satisfaction of dozens of hosted environments. The Director will lead the Hosting and DBA teams, partner closely with Development, Quality, Security, and Support, and act as a key liaison to both customers and AWS. This is a critical leadership position at the intersection of infrastructure, customer service, and enterprise software delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own P&L responsibility for Hosting Operations, managing costs, revenue, and customer satisfaction for the hosted Trax software offering.
  • Lead the Hosting team, including the current Hosting Manager and Database Administrators (DBAs).
  • Interim lead Internal IT team providing internal Corporate IT services to Trax employees.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for hosting customers, managing expectations, communications, and escalations.
  • Collaborate with Development and Quality teams to manage customer-specific systems, ensure consistent deployments, and uphold product quality via structured checklists, smoke testing, and internal QA coordination.
  • Deliver and maintain development and test environments for internal stakeholders (Development, QA, etc.).
  • Partner with the Manager of Security and Compliance to ensure robust security of hosted environments and alignment with corporate security standards and certifications (e.g., SOC 2, ISO 27001).
  • Implement and oversee best practices in environment provisioning and management, including Infrastructure as Code (IaC), automated configuration, and secure-by-default policies.
  • Oversee the tools and platforms used for environment monitoring, alerting, and health reporting, providing visibility both internally and to customers.
  • Maintain and grow the relationship with AWS Account Management, ensuring cost-effectiveness, technical enablement, and application of AWS best practices.
  • Collaborate with Customer Support to ensure seamless customer service, timely incident response, and compliance with customer SLAs.

  • Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field, required.
  • Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field, a plus.
  • 10+ years in hosting operations, cloud infrastructure, or enterprise IT delivery.
  • 5+ years in a leadership role managing technical teams.
  • Demonstrated experience managing hosting P&L and customer-facing service delivery.
  • Strong background working in AWS-based environments.
  • Experience with enterprise SaaS or hosted enterprise software products.
  • Strong understanding of cloud architecture, IaC (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation), and automation tools.
  • Experience with system monitoring and alerting platforms (e.g., CloudWatch, Prometheus, Grafana).
  • Familiarity with relational databases (Oracle, MySQL) and working closely with DBA teams.
  • Understanding of security best practices in multi-tenant and regulated environments.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and customer engagement skills.
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage competing priorities.
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills with a bias toward structured, repeatable process.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field.
  • AWS certifications and/or ITIL, PMP, or similar are a plus.
