Job Title: DF AY25/26 OTD Anatomy Lab Assistant Job Description: Anatomy Lab Assistant is a part-time student position at Regis University to assist the Instructor of Record (IOR) in an entry-level Doctor of Occupational Therapy course with the Clinical Anatomy Course (OTD 342/Anatomy lab/Spring semester). The Anatomy Lab Assistant works closely with the course IOR to teach laboratory components of didactic coursework related to occupational therapy theory and practice in their specialty areas. Anatomy Lab Assistants may be qualified instructors, usually licensed occupational or physical therapy practitioners or Year 2 OTD graduate students who meet the qualifications. Responsibilities include collaborating with the IOR to set up and implement laboratory experiences. Effective communication skills (oral and written) and prior anatomy experiences and coursework are essential. Anatomy Lab Assistants are encouraged not to take vacation during days of scheduled laboratories. In cases of illness, they will inform the IOR before the lab so the IOR can make necessary arrangements. Qualifications: OTD Year 2 graduate student or Licensed occupational or physical therapy practitioner Strong traditional undergraduate or graduate experience with anatomy coursework: 9-12 credit hours desired Prior completion of the course being taught is desirable. Prefer high marks in OTD 342 Excellent computer skills and understanding/navigation of learning management system Excellent interpersonal skills, strong organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple student and instructor requests effectively and independently Strong time management skills and timeliness Responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to: Attending any Anatomy Lab Assistant orientation sessions and subsequent training sessions as directed by the IOR. Attending the end-of-semester review and debriefing session with the OTD program coordinator as requested. Reviewing course(s) website content and lab activities prior to the scheduled lab. This may include viewing lecture captures and reviewing course readings. Engaging in lab preparation including set up, clean up, etc. to maintain a safe working environment. Evaluating the face-to-face participation of the students in lab activities. This includes providing instruction and formative feedback to students. Assisting with student performance in lab practicums and preparation before practicums and exams (usually provide 2-3 hours assist the week before or of exams). Assisting with grading and providing timely student feedback in collaboration with the IOR as requested. Providing IOR with feedback on student performance and experiential learning activities as requested by IOR. Using both Creighton and Regis University email accounts for communication. This should be checked periodically during the week for any communication with the IOR and/or students. Responding to IOR and Regis University staff in a timely and consistent fashion. Reporting any student issues to IOR and Program Coordinator in a timely fashion. Tracking hours and providing them to the Program Coordinator at the end of the semester Time Commitment: The Anatomy Lab Assistant position will average 5 hours a week. The position will be held throughout the spring semester during OTD 342. Position Processing Requirements: The Anatomy Lab Assistant position receives a stipend, paid in monthly installments over the spring semester. The position is processed through Regis University’s Human Resources, and onboarding occurs in the fall before the position timeframe in the spring. Reporting Relationship: The Anatomy Lab Assistant reports to the Instructor of Record for Anatomy Lab and Lecture and to the OTD Program Coordinator as needed. These positions will remain open until filled, with a preferred application date of December 8th, 2025. These positions are benefits-eligible for workers’ compensation and will receive 1 hour of paid sick leave for every 30 hours worked, up to a maximum of 48 hours per year.
