About
overview I believe these custom-built stations may be design patentable because the food station was designed and fabricated by me with custom-built and modified equipment. The unique aspects are its overall aesthetic with signage, size and heat lamp / hot plates lighting behind. It does have functional aspects but do not want to file a utility patent at this time. Those take longer to approve and is not currently in line with business objectives. The goal is to get a design patent, if highly possible, to protect from people copying my business. Once that is achieved, file additional patent filings(utility or design) after. What I believe is patentable and easily defensible below. Please tell me if this is delusional so I do not waste my time and money. Dual-panel modular kiosk table Floating horizontal signage bar(can be illuminated or not) 3-4 top and bottom heating systems (hot plates and heat lamps) Interchangeable front signage zones as well as top signage zones Minimalist design with open-leg base structure Integrated condiment tray layout I have a 3D model and isometric drawings of the station and all of its equipment. This is an active business currently using these kiosks. You are the domain expert, and I trust that you can guide me based on business goals from the information provided here and after we communicate. I do not want to enter into an agreement that does not have a high likelihood of gaining a patent that is defensible. I would rather you tell me that this is not worth pursuing than filing a patent and finding out that it is not defensible or will get limited so much that I cannot defend the business. I'm looking for someone to work with in the future. This is the first Patton of many. This is a job budget. I estimated the budget but you can tell me otherwise since you are the domain expert. Questions Is it worth pursuing? What is the probability that we get it? If received, how is the patent defensible against larger companies? How should the patent be filed so it is defensible? One large patent or multiple small patents? What is your strategy over time so I can easly defend this patient aand revisions against larger companies that have large legal budgets?
