Position Purpose: Reports to the Director of Operations. Work with management and key users to facilitate the analysis of global forecast of all demands streams for product and services to support the global locations customer base and designated markets. The forecast is an estimate of future demands; Demand Management is the process to communicate the forecast to Supply to determine resources and material required for profitable business results. The Demand Manager monitors and analyzes global data as required to profit planning, quarterly reviews, support the processes of global forecast, BTO, order entry, order promising, interplant and service parts requirements. Also is responsible for communicating the forecast requirements to the Supply organization as an input to develop the production plan necessary to meet the Demand Forecast. Essential Functions: Ability to write specifications for program enhancements or new capabilities to meet business needs. Includes but is not limited to global SAP screens, demand processes, report writing and testing Coordinate and train all other local and/or regional Demand Manager's of global systems, processes and procedures. Includes but is not limited to interplant demands, forecast tool, Lucas Bear tool, related SAP screens, and support the power user network Assist with special projects as necessary to support global business segments Analyze financials to support profit planning, quarterly review and to maintain master business segment data. Analyze trends and business modeling Providing necessary global reports for Demand Meetings and BTO: Reports showing Actual to Sales Plan, Profit Plan, and Forecast; aggregate forecast from item number, to product code and/or manufacturing family; manufacturing family forecast review; analyze variances of forecast from prior month (financial & quantity); analyze major adjustments (financial & quantity increases/decreases); reconcile differences in forecast vs. actual orders (per OESLA); prepare documents necessary for monthly meeting; Providing necessary global report and program for Supply Review Meeting: Supply Difference Report (change in quantity month/month); auto load forecast monthly to MRP (global role); reconcile differences in forecast vs. actual orders (per Planners) Daily/Weekly actions required to manage, develop and maintain the global forecast assumptions in anticipation of demand on a monthly basis for the Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) process: Distribute weekly customer shipment report and bookings; distribute month end customer shipment/bookings report; maintain OEPRD dictionary for all fields (Demand & Supply); maintain accuracy of WISE dictionary for the MAC, Product and Customer codes; maintain product codes for items numbers; maintain the forecast for new products review with Product Line Managers; maintain sales plans in total and by market segment and the performance to these plans (month end results by market segment report); communicate detail by item / product code to the Master Schedulers Other Essential Functions: Interact with other departments as required Knowledge Skills & Abilities: Expert communication skills, both written and verbal to facilitate across functional areas Expert understanding of customer-interface or business process through formal study. Understanding of manufacturing process in relation to delivery of product to the customer. Solid knowledge of business computer systems and PC tools. Ability to prioritize and manage projects based on requirements or impact to all business segments Ability to effectively organize and prioritize day-to-day activities and issues within functional area. Ability to delegate as necessary to meet objectives. Ability to create and deliver presentations in a comprehensive and professional manner to department and peers. Solid negotiation skills. Excellent interpersonal skills. Ability to communicate effectively across organization Must have expert computer skills, including Windows, data mining tool such as Monarch, and a report writer such as Business Objects Must be proficient in database management such as WISE and programming, spreadsheet programs, data conversion programs and word processing programs Have a basic understanding of UNIX commands and file transfer protocol (FTP) process Must know and understand the terminology and concepts of MRP (manufacturing resources planning) Education: US – Associate's Degree Experience: Demonstrated experience in sales organization and/or manufacturing industry License & Certifications: CPIM or higher (APICS) What does it mean to be part of Woodward?
