Project Overview The work spans data center assessments, cloud/hybrid strategy, HPC and AI workloads, cost modeling, and the development of long-range architectural and operational plans. We are seeking one or more consultants who can participate in discovery, analysis, modeling, and recommendations. You may be a subject-matter expert in one discipline or a strong generalist with broad experience in large enterprise or research computing environments. Responsibilities • Support assessment of multiple data center sites, including power/cooling capacity, environmental performance, equipment age, and modernization needs. • Contribute to modeling future-state scenarios across on-prem, co-location, cloud, and hybrid models. • Provide input on HPC, AI/ML, GPU/accelerator architectures, large-scale storage, and research computing requirements. • Assist with business models including cost recovery, lifecycle planning, capital versus operating tradeoffs, and tiered service offerings. • Help prepare architecture options, financial analysis, and phased implementation roadmaps. • Review inventories, drawings, and BMS/EMS data; identify information gaps and requirements. • Support creation of executive-ready deliverables and structured technical content. Required Experience (any mix accepted) • Consulting or similar professional client-engagement role. • Data center strategy, modernization, rationalization, consolidation, or facility assessments. • Cloud architecture or cloud strategy for large institutions (AWS, Azure, GCP). • HPC or research computing environments, GPU clusters, or large-scale storage. • IT infrastructure planning, hybrid/cloud migration, or roadmap development. • TCO modeling, cost frameworks, operational models, or financial analysis. • Strong written communication and ability to contribute to structured consulting deliverables. Preferred Skills • Institutional, national lab, or large public-sector experience. • Exposure to quantum computing infrastructure needs. • Understanding of cybersecurity architecture at the governance/policy level. • Experience with complex multi-stakeholder engagements.
