Your next career opportunity As the Cyber Security Lead at the Australian Research Data Commons (ARDC), you'll play a pivotal role in safeguarding Australia's national research infrastructure. You'll implement a comprehensive cybersecurity framework across multiple programs and platforms, working with partners in higher education, government, and industry. This senior position offers you the chance to shape cybersecurity strategy, drive cultural change, and act as a trusted advisor to ARDC leadership and institutional stakeholders. Your responsibilities will include: Framework Implementation: Lead the deployment of a robust cybersecurity framework aligned with industry standards and strategic objectives. Risk Management: Identify, assess, and manage cybersecurity risks across digital assets and services, including third-party risks. Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with internal teams, external institutions, and partners to foster a culture of cybersecurity awareness. Incident Response: Coordinate responses to cybersecurity incidents, leading investigation and mitigation efforts. You may be a great fit if: You are an experienced cybersecurity professional with a strong background in implementing security frameworks in complex organisations, possessing excellent communication skills and the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels. You may also: Hold a degree in technology, cybersecurity, or a related field with significant relevant experience. Have proven experience in leading cybersecurity initiatives and providing high-level advice to senior management. Possess strong knowledge of cybersecurity principles, risk management, and regulatory compliance requirements. Demonstrate excellent communication skills, able to explain complex concepts to diverse audiences. Have experience with key cybersecurity standards such as ISO 27001 and NIST. RCS delivers the digital research infrastructure and services for researchers at The University of Melbourne. RCS operate on-premise High-Performance Computing (HPC), Cloud Computing and General-Purpose Graphical Processing Unit (GPGPU) computational platforms. RCS operate over 20 PB of research data storage to enable data-driven research and collaboration and a range of data management services and provide a range of consultation services to support the development of custom computation and data management solutions. RCS also contributes to the national eResearch infrastructure initiative the ARDC’s Nectar Research Cloud and facilitate access to Australia’s national supercomputer facility NCI.
