Job Title: Cultivation Technician

Classification: Non-exempt/Fulltime

Reports to: Cultivation Manager/Director of Cultivation

Job Summary

The Cultivation Technician provides manual labor to support the activities and operations of the Cannabis Cultivation Department, while abiding by policies, procedures, and operational guidelines.

Essential Functions

• Responsible for executing all assigned Trimming operations including: Daily Cleaning Tasks, Product Quality Assurance, Material Transport (within the facility).
• Maintaining full compliance with local, state, and federal licensing requirements, and remaining familiar with applicable laws and regulations.
• Responsible for performing assigned tasks, completing projects, and meeting expectations in relation to all Trim operations including: scale operation, transporting materials within the facility, handling plant waste, and operating heavy (manual) equipment such as metal carts, portable transport platforms, and scaffolding.
• Using scaffolding and portable ladders in accordance with OSHA Regulations and Company policies and procedures.
• Performing dexterous tasks using sharp tools such as scissors, shears, scalpels, and X-Acto knives/box cutters.
• Maintain open communication with the management team and other co-workers, and log information related to all Trim operations.
• Report employee issues or product situations to immediate supervisor(s).
• Responsible for following all operational guidelines, verbal directives, training information, and policies when performing duties.
• Performs all other duties as assigned.
• Work within the framework of the Klutch Cannabis Mission
• Operating Small equipment, (sorting machine, trimming machine, and rendering machine).

Qualifications include:

• Education and/or Experience – High School Diploma or GED or High School Equivalence Certificate. Past trimming or horticultural experience is a preferred but not required
• Language Skills – Ability to interact clearly and effectively, in both written and oral communication, with supervisors and team members.
• Mathematical Skills – Basic math skills.
• Safety and Security – Observes safety and security procedures; reports potentially unsafe conditions; uses equipment and materials properly.
• Quality Control—The individual demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness and monitors own work to ensure quality.
• Other Qualifications – Reliable transportation. Valid Driver’s License preferred.
• Contributes to building a positive team spirit; puts success of the team above own interests; supports everyone’s efforts to succeed; must be able to work well in multi-disciplinary team setting; treats people with respect, possesses extreme integrity and dependability.
• Energetic, hardworking, ready to pitch in where help is needed.
• Must be able to pass an OAC 3796 background check

Working Environment

This job operates in a professional commercial cannabis cultivation facility (working with plant material).

Physical Requirements

• The employee is frequently required to stand, stoop, kneel, crouch or reach
• The employee is required to safely lift and/or move up to 25lbs on a frequent basis
• Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus
