About
- We are seeking loyal, dedicated individuals to daily assist children in crossing intersections during the school term Monday thru Friday, twice a day from 8:30am-9:30am and 2:30pm-3:30pm.
OBJECTIVE
- Ensure the safety of pedestrians, particularly school children, by managing traffic flow and assisting individuals in safely crossing streets at designated intersections. The crossing guard will maintain a visible and authoritative presence, follow all traffic and safety regulations, and promote a secure environment for the community.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- • Drive own vehicle to assigned location
- • Observe school children within close proximity of intersection, status of traffic and
- traffic signals while facilitating their safe passage across the road at assigned post.
- • Direct and advise school children to wait at the edge of streets and when to cross the road safely
- • Maintain presence in the middle of the road to stop all lanes of traffic; direct
- traffic to stop or resume
- • Interact with children and their parents
- • Report hours worked in ADP payroll system
- • Perform all other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
- • Possess Pennsylvania Driver’s License
- • Must provide PA State Police Clearance, PA Child Abuse Clearance, FBI Criminal History Clearance
- • Must submit a pre-employment physical examination
- • Must Submit a negative drug test
- • Must proficiently read, write, and speak the English language
- • Stand or sit continuously
- • Walk, reach at shoulder level frequently
- • Possess good visual acuity (continuous mid, far, field of vision, frequently color
- vision and depth perception)
- • Mature, Personable, and punctual
- • Must possess the ability to work autonomously.
- • Subject to outside environmental conditions
- • Must be able to work in extreme cold and extreme heat.
- • Withstand vehicular traffic continuously
