General Job Description

  • The Creative Videographer is a key creative role that is responsible for conceptualizing, producing, and editing high-quality video content to support marketing campaigns, product demonstrations, and brand storytelling. This position works collaboratively with the marketing, sales, and product teams to create engaging visual assets that resonate with our target audience. The Creative Videographer will have significant autonomy to innovate and execute video projects from start to finish, contributing directly to enhancing our online presence and customer engagement. This role requires a passionate storyteller with a keen eye for detail, who excels in a fast-paced setting, and is adept at using video to communicate complex concepts.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Conceptualize and storyboard video ideas aligned with marketing goals, including promotional videos, tutorials, customer testimonials, and social media content.
  • Collaborate with other team members on scripts, storyboards, and shot lists for projects, deciding between real footage and animated outputs for effective communication.
  • Shoot high-quality footage using professional equipment, including cameras, lighting, and audio gear, both in-studio and on-location as needed.
  • Edit and post-produce videos using industry-standard software, incorporating graphics, animations, sound design, and effects to deliver polished final products.
  • Collaborate with marketing and product teams to ensure video content accurately reflects product features, brand voice, and campaign objectives.
  • Manage multiple video projects simultaneously, ensuring adherence to production timelines and resource constraints; coordinating with external freelancers as needed.
  • Optimize videos for various platforms, such as YouTube, social media, website embeds, and email campaigns, ensuring compatibility and high performance.
  • Conduct video performance analysis using analytics tools to measure engagement, views, and conversions, and iterate on future content based on insights.
  • Maintain and organize video assets in a digital library, ensuring easy access and compliance with branding guidelines.
  • Record and produce ShipTalkers podcast, including final audio files and shortened social media promotion clips.
  • Utilize AI-assisted video creation tools such as Runway, VEO3, ElevenLabs, etc to boost efficiency in video production.
  • Stay current with video production trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in digital storytelling for SaaS marketing.
  • Support live events or webinars by providing video coverage, streaming setup, and real-time editing as required.
  • Maintain a high level of creativity, attention to detail, and brand consistency throughout all video projects.
  • Manage and maintain all physical and digital assets, including but not limited to cameras, podcast studio, green room, audio tools, etc.
  • Requirements

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in film production, media arts, communications, related field or equivalent work experience in video production or editing software.
  • Minimum of 2 years of professional experience in videography, preferably in a marketing or digital content creation role within the technology or logistics industry.
  • Demonstrated portfolio of video work showcasing creative storytelling, technical proficiency, and successful marketing outcomes.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Proficiency in video production techniques, including cinematography, lighting, sound recording, and post-production best practices.
  • Proficiency in video editing tools including Adobe Premiere, DaVinci Final Cut, or After Effects.
  • Proficiency in motion graphics and animation tools including Photoshop or Illustrator.
  • Strong creative skills with the ability to develop original concepts that align with brand identity and audience preferences.
  • Excellent storytelling abilities, with a talent for translating technical SaaS topics into engaging, narrative-driven videos.
  • Technical expertise in camera operation, sound recording, lighting and multimedia formats, including HD/4K/Raw resolution and compression for web delivery.
  • Strong project management skills to handle multiple assignments simultaneously in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work cross-functionally and incorporate feedback from multiple stakeholders.
  • High level of initiative, attention to detail, and the capacity to work independently while contributing to team-driven creative goals.
  • Adaptability and interest in emerging tools and trends.
