PROJECT OVERVIEW: We are seeking a talented freelance 2D Animator to create engaging, wholesome episodes for a new entertaining and educational children's YouTube series targeting ages 3–6. If you love color, movement, and creating content that makes kids smile and learn, this is the project for you! WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR: We highly encourage recent graduates and animators with a genuine passion for children's media to apply. We value expressive, heartwarming storytelling and a clean, colorful aesthetic. YOUR ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES • Animation Production: We will provide scripts, voice-overs, and some illustrations, which you will transform into finished 3–6 minute animated videos. • Design & Illustration: While core character rigs/backgrounds will be provided, you will use your illustration skills to design and build new backgrounds, props, and secondary characters as needed for each episode. • Creative Storytelling: Inject personality, creativity, and fun into the animation, ensuring the final product is safe, engaging, and age-appropriate for young children. PROJECT DETAILS AND COMPENSATION; • Software: Proficiency in Toon Boom Harmony is required. • Location Requirement: We are only accepting proposals from US-based freelance animators. You must be a current resident of the United States. • Timeline: We allow 6–8 weeks per 3–6 minute video, designed for a flexible schedule. • Compensation: The rate is fixed between $100 to $200 per final minute of animation, based on experience and portfolio quality. PAYMENT & MILESTONE STRUCTURE: Payment will be secured via the Upwork Escrow system and based on a two-milestone structure that ensures work satisfaction before payment release: 1. Milestone 1 (10% of Estimated Cost): Paid upon the delivery and approval of all new character designs, props, and background layouts. 2. Milestone 2 (Final Payment - 90% + Adjustment): Paid upon the completion of satisfactory final animation and delivery of all source files and assets. Final Cost Calculation: The final video length will be calculated by rounding up to the nearest 10-second increment (e.g., 4:23 runtime bills as 4:30, or 4.5 minutes). LEGAL REQUIREMENTS (MUST READ): This project is contingent upon the selected freelancer signing a separate, custom legal contract. This contract will clearly define: 1. Work-for-Hire: The finished animation and all created assets are classified as "Work-for-Hire," ensuring all intellectual property rights immediately transfer to us upon completion and final payment. 2. Confidentiality: A non-disclosure agreement (NDA) for all scripts, designs, and unreleased content. 3. Scope and Limitations: Clear definition of project scope, rounds of revisions, and legal limitations. 4. Portfolio Rights: Explicit confirmation of your limited right to use clips for your portfolio, while maintaining our exclusive, worldwide usage rights for the final series.
