This department includes state prisons with custody, healthcare, and facility operations staff as well as probation/parole officers who supervised sentenced people in the community. Description of Work Knowledge Skills and Abilities/Management Preferences Salary Range: $31,200.00 - $49,340.00 Management Preferences: Documented knowledge of an admission process into a correctional environment or human services program. This position is located at North Piedmont (CRV) Confinement in Response to Violation center. This correctional facility houses and provide intensive behavior modification programs for females who have committed technical violations of probation. Recording data and maintaining all offender records. Obtaining various types of information (socioeconomic, education substance abuse history, etc.) from offenders once they have been admitted including interviewing offenders, explaining terms of their sentence, and entering information into the OPUS system from the commitment and a variety of personal background documents and interviews. Making recommendations to a supervisor from the information gathered during the admission process as needed. Communicating clearly with offenders who may be difficult to communicate with and who may not understand why information is being asked and/or may have difficulty providing responses while utilizing various approaches with different offenders to ensure successful collection of necessary data. Explaining policies, practices, and procedures, as well as answering basic questions a new offender may have regarding what to expect during his commitment. Creating and maintaining a variety of files in both electronic and in hard copy format. including, but not limited to, offender records, reports, memorandum, policies, orientation materials and statistics, and general correspondences. Assists in other areas of the facility in a non-certified capacity when necessary. This position serves as backup to other administrative areas such as accounting, HR, etc. Effective July 1, 2025, candidates now meet the minimum qualifications of a position if they have the minimum education and experience listed from the class specification. Hours may vary at times depending on the business needs of the facility.
