- JOB OVERVIEW
- The Program Coordinator will be based out of our Causeway Center but is responsible for supporting the day-to-day operations of all Neighbor Food Programs in the service area. As a Program Coordinator, you will be responsible for supporting our market, bistro, Trinity Cafe, Feeding Pinellas Empowerment Center, and Lockers at Sulphur Springs.
- While on site, you will be responsible for the execution of our food programs. This includes daily meal service and pantry access. You will play an active role in food stocking, serving meals, and engaging with our neighbors in a positive and respectful manner. Responsibilities for this position also include ensuring a clean environment across all sites, including trash removal, sweeping and mopping, and other cleaning duties.
- This position requires schedule flexibility, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Program Service Coordination
- Support the daily execution of the meal service at the bistro and Trinity Cafe locations by stepping into any volunteer role as needed and assisting with preparation and clean up
- Ensure all food safety and compliance requirements are followed for meal service and pantry operations
- Support neighbor needs by engaging in a positive, understanding, and supportive manner
- Be on-site during the entire program window to ensure a high-quality program is being delivered.
- Assist with market responsibilities, including checking neighbors in for their appointments, re-stocking shelves, and maintaining the cleanliness of the pantry
- Support the Culinary team in receiving the daily meal, preparing for meal service, and cleaning up once complete.
- Ensuring the facility is clean, safe, and that all program policies are adhered to
- Collect, store, and report required data
- Volunteer Management
- Monitor daily volunteer schedule and understand the policies and procedures related to on-site volunteer opportunities
- Lead volunteer orientation before each volunteer shift.
- Engage in a positive and respectful manner with all volunteers before, during, and after shifts.
- Train and orient new volunteers, and foster opportunities for acquiring new volunteers and enhancing volunteer involvement and retention
- Assist in planning of recognition and appreciation activities for volunteers with FTB’s Volunteer team
General Duties and Responsibilities
- Support all Neighbor Food Programs through site coverage and cross-training on an as-needed basis
- Report all facility maintenance needs to FTB’s Facilities team and adhere to best practices for satellite site maintenance
- Ensure a clean and safe working environment by cleaning floors, taking out trash, and cleaning equipment used for program delivery
- Embrace, uphold, and embody FTB’s mission and Grow Code in neighbor, community, and internal interactions
- Support a team-based environment that fosters connection across all Neighbor Food Programs and FTB programs
- Participate in regular staff, team meetings, and others as required
- Demonstrate a pleasant, professional, and helpful attitude at all times
- Commit to upholding policies, principles, and best practices for food safety

- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Bilingual (Spanish) is a plus
- Ability to use pallet jack and warehouse equipment is a plus
- Willingness to work in low-income, culturally diverse community settings, with a basic understanding of the challenges and barriers faced when individuals and families seek assistance
- Ability to maintain a professional and calm demeanor while making quick decisions in stressful situations
- Possess a strong attention to detail and while maintaining exceptional customer service to the community
- Willingness to learn various technology applications based on the needs of the food programs team
- Possess excellent interpersonal skills in a diverse environment.
- Valid Florida Driver’s License. Some travel within the 10-county region (mileage to other sites is reimbursed at the federal rate)
- This position is regularly required to stand, walk, reach with arms and hands, climb or balance, and to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
- Can execute repetitive physical work such as lifting, stacking, unloading, and stocking
- Can work inside/outside in extreme weather conditions to include heat, rain, wind and cold.
- Can frequently lift up to 50 lbs. of weight.
- Have or be able to acquire Food Manager certification (via FTB training).
