Position Description

  •  
  • Perform duties to ensure proper cook and chill methods are conducted in accordance with product specification and USDA regulations.
  •  

Primary Responsibilities

  • * Prepare cook or chill tanks by filling and setting temperatures
  • * Prepare dollies for cook process
  • * Monitor tank water levels, temperatures, and equipment performance throughout the cook/chill processes, making adjustments as needed
  • * Record product and cook information on appropriate forms or enter into computer system
  • * Select appropriate recipe programs in computer system
  • * Pull racks of product and move to next phase of process
  • * Conduct hand probe temperature readings on cooked product
  • * Maintain safe and clean work environment by complying with employee and food safety procedures, rules, and regulations
  • * Operate jeep/walker for the movement of product
  • * Complies with and adheres to all employee safety and food safety programs
  • * Perform other duties as assigned

Position Requirements

  • * Able to speak, read, and write English, bilingual Spanish preferred
  • * High school graduate or equivalent
  • * Basic computer skills, proficient with Microsoft Office programs
  • * Proficient with basic math skills
  • * Willing and able to work overtime and weekends
  • * One to three years related experience preferred
  • * Knowledge of GMP, HACCP and USDA regulations preferred
  •  

Physical Requirements

  • * Able to lift more than 50 pounds daily
  • * Able to push/pull between 1000-1500 lbs with assistance daily
  • * Able to tolerate extreme temperatures daily
  • * Able to climb vertical ladders 3-4 feet off ground frequently throughout the day
  • * Walking or standing 100% of day
  • * Bending/stooping daily
  •  

Training Period

  • Minimum 90 days meeting all above requirements; up to one year

  • This is a union position and comes with benefits provided by the union, upon completion of the 90 day probationary period. Benefits include: medical, vision and dental as well as 1 week of paid time off after 1 year of employment.
