We provide Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy and family support services for children on the autism spectrum. We are seeking an experienced Contract Controller / Accountant to provide part-time financial oversight, payroll management, and daily reporting support. This role is ideal for a contractor who enjoys flexibility while making a meaningful impact in a growing healthcare organization. Scope of Work Financial Management & Reporting Maintain and oversee accounting records, reconciliations, and financial statements. Deliver daily, weekly, and monthly financial reports for leadership review. Manage revenue recognition, cash flow tracking, and expense oversight. Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis. Payroll Oversight Process payroll for staff and clinicians (hourly and salaried). Ensure compliance with California state and federal payroll/tax requirements. Coordinate with HR on employee records, benefits deductions, and reporting. Operational Oversight Implement and maintain strong internal controls and compliance processes. Manage accounts payable/receivable workflows. Provide support during audits, tax preparation, and compliance reviews. Recommend process improvements for efficiency and reporting transparency. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA preferred). 5+ years of accounting/finance experience, ideally with healthcare or service-based organizations. Experience managing payroll and contractor payments. Proficiency with QuickBooks, Gusto/ADP, or comparable platforms. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. Ability to work independently as a contractor with minimal supervision, with C suite and Directors. Commitment: [e.g., 25-40+ hours per week, or project-based — flexible to define together]
