  • We are hiring a Consumer Loan Funder who under general supervision, will build and maintain successful Member relationships by funding and servicing loans to the Member’s complete satisfaction, while simultaneously ensuring that supporting documentation and records are accurately prepared according to credit union policies. Meets or exceeds all funding goals with minimum errors and processes pending loans in a timely, consistent manner.
  • Business Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00AM - 6:00PM & Saturdays, 9:00AM – 1:00PM*
  • *This position will require working flexible hours, including rotating Saturdays, during regular business hours.
  • This position is based in Anaheim Hills CA with the opportunity to work on a hybrid-remote schedule which consists of 2 days in-office and 3 days working remote from home.

  • Requirements
  • Minimum Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 2+ years of experience in making, processing, and funding consumer loans.
  • Advanced working knowledge of consumer lending, processing, laws/regulations, DMV documentation, lending products and Visa.
  • Experience in online data processing, and basic accounting and ten-key skills.
  • Preferred Qualifications
  • Associate degree or equivalent experience.
  • Skills and Abilities
  • Proficient in using all applicable MS Office programs (i.e., Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, etc.).
  • Ability to maintain a positive and professional behavior and image with credit union Members, staff, management, and board, and keep all credit union and Member information confidential.
  • Establish and maintain effective business relationships with staff in other departments with advanced oral and written communications skills.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of policies, procedures and related loan laws and regulations necessary to effectively perform job duties.
  • Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Provides an excellent Member experience by relating well to the Member, thinking, and exercising sound judgment, and acting responsibly in the Member's and the Credit Union's best interests.
  • Demonstrates comprehensive knowledge of consumer lending products, services, and processes. Successfully and completely processes consumer loan and credit card applications, consumer loan funding, all forms including DMV paperwork. Should be knowledgeable in necessary DMV forms required for each loan type. In addition, have a complete understanding of all loan closing and funding functions.
  • Uses electronic systems to gather, notate, and route loan application and loan related data to appropriate team Members, especially Underwriters and Consumer Loan Consultants as needed to originate loans. Also uses DocuSign and other systems to communicate with Members and transmit and receive loan information, including electronic funding.
  • Communicates with Members and other departments via email and/or phone clearly and concisely to gather the information and documentation needed to fund a loan or complete; verifies employment and the income of the borrower and kicking it back to an Underwriter as needed for review.
  • Promptly responds to all requests as needed to provide the best Member Experience possible keeping MLG survey expectations top of mind.
  • Ensures down payment and/or loan-to-value requirement are met when required by the Underwriter. In addition, ensure accurate payoff amounts on secured loans and payoff addresses on loans that will be consolidated are gathered.
  • Verifies that the loan closes in accordance with the Underwriter’s approval criteria; sets up loan closing appointment for the Member when closing at the branch location is necessary and communicates necessary instructions with the branch.
  • Funds the loan if possible (with the use of mail or the electronic delivery of documents); sets up the automatic payment of the loan and ensures forms are signed when payment is from another financial institution.
  • Ensures loan documents are ready when Member shows up at a branch to close the loan; ensures loan documents are done accurately the first time.
  • Complete understanding and active application the Exceptional Experience Guide expectations.
  • Must be able and available to work a “hybrid” schedule, per business operations requirement, as needed.

  • Pay Scale: Min $21.49 / Mid $26.75 / Max $31.15* an hour
  • *Actual compensation will be based on geographical location, work experience, education and/or skill level.
