We are a grassroots newsroom and media collective based in the US. We are searching for ongoing help growing our network of independent artists, organizers, and nonprofits working toward collective wellbeing. We’re looking for a Community Researcher & Story Scout to help us identify and connect with talented independent artists, grassroots organizations and cultural changemakers for upcoming editorial and collaborative content opportunities. What You’ll Do * Research and source independent artists, creative entrepreneurs, and nonprofits doing meaningful work across the U.S. (and beyond) * Track emerging voices, collectives, and cultural movements across platforms like Instagram, TikTok, and Threads * Maintain a spreadsheet of potential contacts and story leads * Reach out to artists and organizations to gauge interest in interviews, Q&As, or features * Draft and send introductory or Q&A emails * Support our editorial team by flagging timely or compelling stories that align with HYVEMIND’s mission and values Who You Are * Deeply curious about culture, community, and creative systems * Comfortable researching across social platforms and vetting potential collaborators * Organized — you love spreadsheets and follow-through * Strong written communicator with an approachable, human tone * Ideally familiar with grassroots nonprofits, independent art scenes, or community storytelling * Bonus if you have experience in journalism, content research or artist relations How to Apply Send a short note about who you are and why you’d be a great fit, along with any relevant links.
