Part-Time Command Center & Lobby Desk Operator
Schedule: Part-time, varied shifts including evenings, weekends, and events
Position Summary
We’re looking for a Part-Time Command Center Operator to help keep our facility safe, welcoming, and running smoothly. You’ll monitor security systems, assist visitors and staff, and serve as a communication hub during events. If you’re detail-oriented, calm under pressure, and enjoy a mix of security and client service work, we’d love to hear from you.
Key Responsibilities
Security & Monitoring
- Monitor surveillance cameras, access-control systems, and fire panels; report any irregularities.
- Inspect premises for signs of intrusion, tampering, or vandalism.
- Respond promptly to emergencies, alarms, and unusual events (fire, crowd management).
- Document incidents, shipping/receiving activity, and daily audits in accurate reports.
Front Desk & Communication
- Answer emergency, non-emergency, and lobby desk phone.
- Greet and assist visitors, contractors, and regulatory personnel (e.g., FDNY, DOB).
- Communicate by radio and maintain effective interactions with clients, employees, and vendors.
Operations & Administration
- Maintain logs, activity reports, and other records for management.
- Support events by ensuring the Lobby Desk remains secure and responsive.
Qualifications
Required
- Minimum age 18; high school diploma or GED.
- Strong judgment and ability to stay calm under pressure.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to handle confidential information.
- Eligible to work in the United States.
- Ability to meet physical requirements: long periods of standing/sitting, occasional lifting up to 25 lbs (rarely up to 50 lbs), climbing/stooping as needed.
Preferred
- Previous security, lobby desk, or facilities experience.
- Familiarity with CCTV, access-control systems, and basic safety guidelines.
Licenses/Certifications
- S-95 certification within 6 months of hire and F-89 within 1 year (training assistance available).

Pay: $23.00 - $27.00 per hour
