About the Role

  • This Caseworker 3-Screener position reviews referrals coming into the agency and is expected to independently assess and determine disposition regarding which case need to be assigned to an intake caseworker to limit child risk and ensure child safety. This position is expected to work collaboratively with Childline staff to receive, send, and confirm referral information as well as be the point person for implementation for the CWIS system, including training new workers.  A caseworker 3 is expected to perform the duties of a lead worker over other lower level workers in the supervisor's absence. 

Minimum Qualifications

  • 1. A minimum of two years of experiences as a County Caseworker and
  • 2. Bachelor's degree with a social welfare major; or is supplemented by 12 college credits in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or related field. 
  • 3. County Caseworker experience can be a combination of County Caseworker 1 and County Caseworker 2 experience, as long as there is at least one year of experience at the County Caseworker 2 level. 
  • License(s) and Certification(s): Must possess a valid driver's license, personal vehicle, and current automobile insurance. 

Clearances required to obtain prior to hire

  • 1. Pennsylvania Child Abuse History Clearance (Act 33)
  • 2. Pennsylvania State Police Request for Criminal Records Check (Act 34)
  • 3. FBI Criminal Background Check (Act 73)

  • Status: Full Time / 40 hours per week. Normal working hours are 8:00AM - 4:30PM with a half hour unpaid lunch, but may vary slightly.
  • Compensation: $22.88/ hour minimum to start, dependent upon experience
