  • The Deputy Project Manager will serve as advisor to the Director of Systems Integration and Chief Acquisition Officer for investment decisions and major systems acquisition program management processes and procedures. CG-SID-9 provides support and oversight to the Program Management Offices of major and non-major systems acquisitions and is the primary point of contact with the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) for the acquisition review process. Due to the size, scope and complexity of USCG acquisition programs, CG-SID-9 requires specialized program management support.
  • Requirements

The Deputy Project Manager will be responsible for the successful execution of all tasks, including but not limited to

  • 1. Project Planning & Execution
  • o Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, and deliverables in alignment with SOW requirements.
  • o Ensure compliance with all contractual obligations, milestones, and performance standards.
  • 2. Team Leadership & Coordination
  • o Lead and manage project team members, assigning tasks and monitoring progress.
  • o Coordinate with stakeholders, subcontractors, and government representatives to ensure seamless communication.
  • 3. Risk & Issue Management
  • o Identify potential risks and implement mitigation strategies.
  • o Resolve issues promptly to avoid delays or cost overruns.
  • 4. Quality Assurance
  • o Oversee quality control processes to ensure deliverables meet or exceed standards specified.
  • o Conduct regular reviews and audits of project outputs.
  • 5. Reporting & Documentation
  • o Prepare and submit required reports (status updates, financial summaries, performance metrics) to the COR and other stakeholders.
  • o Maintain accurate project documentation for compliance and audit purposes.
  • 6. Budget & Resource Management
  • o Monitor project budgets and resource allocation to ensure cost-effectiveness.
  • o Provide forecasts and recommendations for adjustments as needed.

• Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Project Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or related field. PMP certification preferred.

• Experience

  • o Minimum 5 years of experience managing projects of similar scope and complexity.
  • o Demonstrated success in government contracting or federal acquisition environments.
  • o Minimum 5 years of experience on ACAT 1 acquisitions programs as defined by the Major Systems Acquisition Manual (MSAM)

• Skills

  • o Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • o Proficiency in project management tools (MS Project, Jira, Primavera P6 etc.).
  • o Knowledge of FAR, DHS/USCG acquisition policies, and compliance requirements.
  • • Clearance: None required.
