Scope of Work – LiDAR Window Measurement App Project Overview We are seeking a developer to build a LiDAR-based mobile application for accurately measuring residential and commercial windows. The app will allow field technicians to use their device’s LiDAR sensor and camera to capture window dimensions by simply pointing the camera at the window from both the interior and exterior. The application will generate precise measurements that can be saved, exported, and used for ordering and installation purposes. --- Responsibilities Provide wireframes, UI/UX design, and prototype layout. Supply functional requirements and user flow documentation. Test and provide feedback on iterations of the app. Developer Code and implement the LiDAR measurement functionality. Integrate camera-based targeting to allow techs to point and measure windows. Develop algorithms to detect window edges and return width/height measurements. Build ability to take measurements both inside and outside of a structure. Implement user-friendly interface based on provided prototype design. Create data export functionality (CSV, PDF, or API integration for order management). Ensure accuracy within acceptable tolerances (+/- 1/8 inch preferred). Provide testing and debugging on supported devices (iOS/iPadOS with LiDAR support initially; Android LiDAR support optional/secondary). --- Features & Functionality 1. LiDAR Measurement Tools Point-and-measure system for capturing window width and height. Ability to confirm and adjust measurements manually if needed. Visual overlay showing measurement lines on-screen. 2. Project & Measurement Management Save projects by homeowner name, address, or job ID. Store multiple windows per project. Ability to add notes or photos for each measurement. 3. Export & Reporting Export measurements to CSV or PDF for ordering windows. Optional integration with external CRM/order management system. 4. Accuracy & Calibration Calibrate against standard objects if required. Maintain consistent accuracy across devices. --- Deliverables Fully functional LiDAR measurement app prototype (MVP). Source code and documentation. User guide for field technicians.
