POSITION PURPOSE
- This job involves learning a wide variety of administrative and operational duties related to Brokerage. Included in the duties are responsibilities to handle correspondence (often involving confidential matters), maintain files, screen visitors, and handle telephone inquiries relating to Brokerage. Confidentially of the department must be maintained at all times.
- ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES
- 1. Be able to perform a variety of duties related to maintenance of brokerage accounts. This includes making deposits, transferring of funds as requested by the customer or supervisor, making distributions, filing, computer usage, ability to read brokerage reports.
- 2. Be able to wait on customers, screen visitors, answer telephones and develop technique for composing letters for both formal and practical use.
- 3. Process receipts from asset sales and payments for asset purchases.
- 4. Open new accounts; prepare and process all necessary forms.
- 5. Process IRA transfers, deposits, rollovers, direct rollovers, and distributions.
- 6. Process brokerage account applications, confirmations, settlements, stock certificates, statements, and other brokerage-related activity.
- 7. Schedule and prepare customer seminars and customer appreciation meetings as necessary.
- 8. Schedule and prepare bank employee educational seminars and employee referral programs.
- 9. Assist in all day-to-day brokerage activities.
- 10. Perform other duties, work overtime, and attend classes or seminars as requested by supervisor.
- 11. Maintain department confidentiality.
- SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: This role has no supervisory responsibilities.
- QUALIFICATIONS
- Education/Certification: High school diploma or G.E.D. is required
- Required Knowledge: Excel and Work experience preferred
- Experience Required: Comparable work experience helpful but not required
- Skills/Abilities: Good spelling, grammar and punctuation skills, ability to file accurately, ability to use a calculator with proficiency, strong organizational skills, good customer skills
- Hours: Monday - Friday 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM.
