• The YMCA of Greater Whittier is seeking fun, energetic and dedicated coaches for our youth basketball program.

• We work with children and teenagers from ages 5 to 14, helping them develop fundamental basketball skills. We emphasize growth, teamwork and creating a fun, inclusive environment for all participants.

Coaching responsibilities

• - Plan and lead dynamic practices, incorporating drills and activities that target different skills
• - Foster participation, inclusion and teamwork among players
• - Give feedback to help players and teams improve their performance
• - Lead and instruct teams on game days
• - Ensure player safety and compliance with facility protocols
• - Help with equipment and setup for practices and game days
• - Support other coaches, volunteers and staff as needed

• Schedule: 4pm-8:30pm Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays
• Pay: $16.50-$18.50 depending on experience

• Requirements

Must have

• - experience working with kids
• - experience playing basketball
• - comprehensive knowledge of basketball fundamentals
• - a positive and enthusiastic attitude
• - adaptability / creativity in organizing activities
• - ability to lead large groups of people
• - strong initiative
• - professionalism

Preferred

• - previous basketball coaching experience
• - sports coaching experience
