Description

Are you passionate about helping nonprofits unlock the full potential of their fundraising operations? As an Associate Consultant of Nonprofit Technology and Operations, you’ll partner with mission-driven organizations to strengthen the processes, technology, and strategies that fuel philanthropy and drive impact. This position will support client-facing engagement teams to conduct assessments and provide subsequent deliverables, including but not limited to areas such as gift processing, reporting, technology ecosystem effectiveness, business processes, and other related functions that support fundraising programs and donor experience. 


The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of non-profit programs and experience with the operational programs that support fundraising efforts the ability to document and analyze business processes, foundational understanding of fundraising systems and data, and other related functions. This position requires strong project management, ability to prioritize multiple projects and deadlines, and agility in working with varied subject matter experts. The ability to exercise initiative, independent judgment, and accountability for various processes and projects is crucial. Excellent writing and analysis skills are critical to support projects that require written work product.  Strong communication and presentation skills are necessary to engage with clients.

This position works collaboratively with clients, consultants, and support staff. This position will frequently partner with and learn from industry-leading consultants as they help clients to discover solutions to their operations challenges.


Responsibilities

  • Perform client work as a part of a team, and independently as needed.
  • Tasks and projects may include assessments, providing counsel, staff augmentation, participating in technology projects, and other projects that arise.
  • Serve as a key project team member for multi-team  engagements in defined roles as outlined in project scope and as defined by the project engagement manager.
  • Contributes ideas and support innovative approaches to problem solving. 
  • Collaborate regularly with internal team members and clients to ensure delivery of cohesive and quality work product delivered by deadline.
  • Meet utilization goals related to billable client work. 
  • Support firm-generated thought leadership by creating written content and engage in speaking opportunities to promote expertise in philanthropy through firm and industry publications, conferences, or events.
  • Participate in ongoing internal activities as a productive and active member of the firm. These may include orientation and ongoing trainings, firm-wide client review meetings, and other skill-building activities.
  • Contribute to BWF sales and marketing efforts through dedicated opportunity discovery and sales process participant.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • 5+ years of work experience in a non-profit setting and 2+ years related to fundraising operations in higher education, healthcare, and/or other nonprofit settings with a strong understanding of nonprofit technology and surrounding ecosystem.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work in high pressure situations.
  • Ability to work independently and as a part of a team.
  • Analytical skills, both qualitative and quantitative, and a solid strategic thinking ability for developing client recommendations and other deliverables.
  • Solid time management skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience; professional certification welcome.


Work Environment/Conditions

  • This position can be remote or based in our Minneapolis office (locally based consultants are expected to maintain a hybrid office present).
  • Position requires ability to work in a stationary position for majority of workday.
  • Continuous use of computer.
  • Frequent communication with team and clients via zoom and in person.
  • This is an exempt position that requires at least 40 hours of work per week during core business hours but due to the nature of this role, additional hours are required when deadlines need to be met.
  • Overnight travel to client sites, conferences or firm meetings is sometimes required (up to 30% of time).

Compensation and Benefits Annual base salary range of $65,000 to $90,000 based on qualifications and experience, plus bonus potential . BWF offers a comprehensive benefits package including:
