  • THE ROLE
  • Chetola Resort is seeking a disciplined, detail-oriented, and people-focused Assistant Restaurant Manager to join the leadership team at Timberlake’s Restaurant. Working closely with the Restaurant Manager and alongside another Assistant Restaurant Manager, this role helps set, communicate, and reinforce the standards that define exceptional service.
  • The Assistant Manager plays a key role in both operational precision—making sure every table, tray, and guest interaction meets expectations—and in team culture—building morale, motivating staff, and creating a sense of pride in the work. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who can model excellence, hold others accountable, and cultivate a team environment that’s both disciplined and supportive.
  • WHAT YOU’LL DO
  • Service Standards & Guest Experience
  • Partner with the Restaurant Manager to establish clear service standards and ensure they are consistently upheld
  • Lead by example on the floor, modeling proper service techniques, uniform standards, and professional guest interactions
  • Hold the team accountable to details that matter—from salt and pepper placement to spotless glassware, aligned chairs, and uniform presentation
  • Inspect indoor and outdoor dining areas throughout each shift, reinforcing consistency and providing real-time coaching
  • Team Culture & Leadership
  • Build team morale through recognition, encouragement, and consistent communication
  • Support hiring, onboarding, and training of FOH staff, creating a strong foundation of expectations and values
  • Motivate staff by celebrating successes, while also addressing issues promptly and fairly
  • Foster a culture of pride in service, teamwork, and professionalism across all FOH roles
  • Operational Execution
  • Oversee shift readiness, opening/closing duties, and FOH organization
  • Support POS accuracy, cash handling, and daily reporting
  • Maintain FOH inventory, ensuring supplies are clean, organized, and available
  • Partner with the management team to ensure smooth execution of special events and holiday dining
  • Collaboration & Efficiency
  • Work closely with the Restaurant Manager, fellow Assistant Manager, and Executive Chef to ensure smooth service and strong communication
  • Help monitor labor controls, manage costs, and improve efficiencies while upholding service standards
  • Support seasonal promotions and special initiatives with a detail-driven, guest-first mindset
  • Requirements
  • ATTENTION TO DETAIL IN ACTION

At Timberlake’s, excellence lives in the details. As Assistant Restaurant Manager, you’ll ensure consistency and polish by watching for

  • Tabletop precision: Salt on the right, pepper on the left, condiments aligned, and flatware spotless.
  • Glassware gleam: No water spots, fingerprints, or streaks on wine or water glasses.
  • Chair alignment: Chairs pushed in evenly across the dining room for a uniform presentation.
  • Uniform standards: Team members in crisp, clean uniforms.
  • Menu presentation: Menus free of smudges, delivered consistently with the correct greeting.
  • Floor presence: Actively observing and correcting small lapses before they impact the guest experience.
  • ABOUT YOU
  • A hands-on leader who models professionalism and expects the same from others
  • Skilled at reinforcing standards with consistency and fairness—while also inspiring the team to take pride in meeting them
  • Strong interpersonal skills, able to balance accountability with empathy and encouragement
  • Impeccable attention to detail—you notice the small things that make a big difference in guest perception
  • Passionate about creating both memorable guest experiences and a positive, motivated team culture
  • REQUIREMENTS
  • 2+ years of restaurant supervisory or assistant management experience required; resort or upscale dining experience preferred
  • Strong knowledge of food and beverage service standards and health/safety regulations
  • Proficiency with POS systems and basic reporting
  • Must be available to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 40 lbs
  • WHY CHETOLA
  • Join a collaborative leadership team where you’ll have a direct impact on standards, culture, and guest experience
  • One of the largest private employers in the county with a dynamic work setting and strong potential for career growth
  • Contribute meaningfully to a culture rooted in connection, craftsmanship, and care
  • Competitive pay based on experience
  • Comprehensive benefits offered to full-time eligible employees, including health, dental, vision, supplemental coverage, PTO, and on-property perks
