  • Delta is seeking a highly motivated and experienced accountant to assist in our corporate accounting department. This position will work alongside the Controller in all areas of the accounting department with the primary responsibility of assisting with the preparation of monthly financial reporting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and review accurate financial statements, ensuring compliance with government regulations & GAAP standards.
  • Conduct monthly state sales tax reports and process payments.
  • Oversee and handle General Ledger & Fixed Asset operations with minimal oversight, ensuring timely and accurate month-end and year-end close processes.
  • Assist with the year-end financial audit.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally in financial and budgeting reporting.
  • Assist in preparation of annual budget.
  • Execute timely month-end close processes including revenue cycle, purchasing cycle with accruals, fixed assets, fleet reporting and compliance, and inventory reconciliation.
  • Maintain reconciliations of balance sheet accounts and selected expense accounts.
  • Manage Fleet Truck accounting including maintenance, depreciation, and all required federal and state tax and reporting requirements.
  • Assist with the external audit firm by providing requested supporting documents for annual financial statement audit and tax return.
  • Contribute to proper results by promoting teamwork and high performance.
  • Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • CPA or equivalent certification strongly preferred.
  • 5+ years of progressive public and corporate accounting experience, with emphasis on General Ledger & Fixed Assets accounting.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills, professional work ethics, and the ability to learn quickly in a fast-paced environment are critical.
  • Effective organizational and time management skills to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data and provide actionable insights.
  • Proficiency working with accounting software and ERP systems; experience with SAGE or similar software a plus.
  • Advanced Excel skills including formulas such as VLOOKUP and pivot tables.
  • Familiarity with SharePoint work environments.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • A proactive approach to work in a team environment.
  • Experience in a manufacturing or construction-related industry preferred.
  • This position is on-site with flexibility to consider remote work as needed.
