  • Job Description
  • The Assistant Coach, Men’s Sitting National Team (MSNT) is a regular full-time position responsible for leading the daily training, development, and administration of the MSNT resident training program, and non-resident program. This position provides daily performance feedback and manages program operations. This position operates under the direct supervision of the MSNT Head Coach and is expected to execute the resident program in alignment with the head coach’s strategic plan, technical vision, and athlete development framework. Extensive domestic and international travel is expected for competitions, training camps, and talent scouting.
  • Cross departmental support is expected of all positions. Extended hours may be required to include nights, weekends, and holidays. The position is located in Edmond, OK
  • Requirements

Summary of Duties and Responsibilities include but are not necessarily limited to

  • Athlete Development & Training
  • Lead the daily training and long-term development of MSNT resident athletes.
  • Collaborate with the Head Coach to co-create remote training plans for non-resident athletes and deliver virtual feedback.
  • Implement periodized training plans and lead technical instruction during resident practices.
  • Deliver video-based, data-informed feedback to drive technical improvement.
  • Coordinate with strength and conditioning and medical teams to ensure athlete health and workload balance.
  • Ensure training plans and development goals reflect the direction per MSNT Head Coach.
  • Program Management & Operations
  • Assist with athlete recruitment, evaluation, and selection for the MSNT program.
  • Operate the resident program under the guidance and leadership of the MSNT Head Coach, ensuring that all systems align with team standards and objectives.
  • Maintain consistent, professional communication with the Head Coach and implement directives in a timely and respectful manner.
  • Prepare and submit regular performance and status reports for the Head Coach’s review.
  • Support management of athlete stipends, resident housing, and administrative needs.
  • Coordinate logistics for domestic and international competitions, camps, clinics, and travel.
  • Help enforce athlete handbook standards and contribute to policy development.
  • Performance Analysis & Innovation
  • Assist in performance and match analysis using statistical and video tools.
  • Contribute to the scouting of opponents and preparation of match plans.
  • Translate athlete performance data into customized improvement plans and practice interventions.
  • Collaborate with the Performance Analyst to align daily work with broader team performance objectives.
  • Team Support & Administration
  • Contribute to the development of the MSNT’s annual competition, training, and travel calendar.
  • Coordinate with consultants, support staff, and external specialists to maintain a high-performance environment.
  • Support media and public-facing elements of the program through data, tracking, and athlete storytelling.
  • Assist with long-term strategic planning initiatives and preparation for Paralympic qualification cycles.
  • Other duties and projects as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required (preferably in Sports Administration, Coaching, Exercise Science, Education, or related field).
  • Minimum 5 years of elite-level coaching experience at the junior, collegiate, national, or international level.
  • Demonstrated experience in designing and delivering high-performance training programs.
  • Familiarity with volleyball video and statistical analysis platforms (e.g., DataVolley, VolleyMetrics, Hudl).
  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a high-performance environment.
  • Self-motivated, driven, and self-starter with a strong sense of accountability and initiative.
  • Must successfully pass a USAV background screen (prior to hire date).
  • Must complete SafeSport training within two weeks of hire date and keep current as a condition of continued employment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree in Sports Administration, Coaching, Physiology, Exercise Science, Education.
  • Experience working with volleyball athletes and/or sitting volleyball athletes.
  • Prior experience with adaptive or Paralympic athletes.
  • Salary: $70K
