- Position Summary
- The Alumni Relations Manager is responsible for building and sustaining meaningful engagement with the organization’s alumni community. This role will strengthen connections with former Girl Scouts, volunteers, and staff, cultivating lasting relationships that support the mission, visibility, and long-term success of the organization. This position leads alumni communications, events, data tracking, and fundraising initiatives that foster a thriving and supportive alumni network.

- The position is full time with a competitive hiring salary range of $55,740 - $65,494.
- Essential Job Duties
- Develop and implement an annual alumni engagement strategy to deepen alumni connection to the organization.
- Maintain regular communication with alumni through newsletters, social media, email campaigns, and direct outreach.
- Collect and share alumni stories, testimonials, and updates for use in marketing, fundraising, and reporting materials.
- Plan and execute alumni-focused events and opportunities that cultivate lasting relationships, including networking opportunities, panel discussions, and virtual meetups.
- Partner with program staff to integrate alumni into current programming as speakers, mentors, or volunteers.
- Coordinate alumni presence at signature organization events (e.g., galas, fundraisers, community events).
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date alumni records in the organization’s CRM or database system.
- Track engagement metrics and alumni outcomes to inform strategy and impact reporting.
- Identify and cultivate alumni for leadership roles, including advisory councils, donor opportunities, or board service.
- Collaborate with Philanthropy team staff to engage alumni in annual giving, major gift cultivation, and peer-to-peer fundraising campaigns.
- Develop targeted fundraising appeals and stewardship strategies for the alumni base.
- Support grant proposals or reports that highlight alumni impact or involvement.
- Serve as a collaborative team member, working to advance the mission of Girl Scouts.
- Perform other duties as required and/or assigned.
- Qualifications
- Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in nonprofit management, communications, public relations, or related field or equivalent experience is required.
- 3-5 years of alumni relations, community engagement, or donor relations experience.
- Prior experience in a mission-driven or youth-focused nonprofit is preferred.
- Valid state driver’s license, proof of insurance, and a driving record that is acceptable to our insurance carrier.
- Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Strong project management and organizational skills, with attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively across departments.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office programs, CRM systems, databases, email marketing platforms, social media tools, and other general office software and equipment.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to provide a high level of customer service to internal and external customers, and to represent the organization in a professional manner.
- Ability to effectively organize and prioritize work as well as concentrate on multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Ability to work well in a fast-paced, dynamic organization.
- Ability to manage and work flexible hours, such as evenings and weekends, on occasion as needed.
- Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position 75% of the time operating a computer, including navigating websites, software platforms, spreadsheets and both electronic and paper documents.
- Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery such as a calculator, copier, and computer printer.
- Occasionally positions self to maintain files in file cabinets.
- May need to move boxes weighing up to 25 pounds across office for various needs.
- The ability to observe details at close range and at a distance.
- Is required to drive/ operate an automobile.
