We seek a skilled and motivated AI Program Manager to spearhead the State of Colorado’s efforts in adopting and implementing artificial intelligence (AI) across government agencies. This role requires a unique blend of technical expertise, collaborative leadership and ability to drive program details. You will be responsible for guiding the development and execution of AI initiatives, ensuring responsible use, fostering innovation, and maximizing the benefits of AI for Colorado residents.You will be a key member of the Chief Data Office team, responsible for driving the State of Colorado’s AI framework and initiatives across government agencies. This role requires a blend of technical expertise, strategic vision, and strong leadership skills. In close collaboration with OIT (Office of Information Technology) resources and agency stakeholders, the AI Program Manager will develop and facilitate product roadmaps (in the areas of innovation, governance and literacy) as well as ensure alignment with broader state strategies that serve Colorado residents. The successful candidate will champion responsible AI practices, cultivate cross-agency collaboration, and deliver tangible outcomes that maximize the benefits of AI for all. If using your creativity and innovation in the development and delivery of impactful AI initiatives is what you love, apply today for the chance to also put your passion into the state you love!Some of the opportunities for you include: Overseeing the end-to-end planning, execution, and monitoring, oversight and alignment of AI program initiatives within OIT and supporting AI initiatives across multiple state agencies.Defining AI program scope, goals, and deliverables in collaboration with stakeholders.Develop and manage detailed program plans, timelines, resource allocation, and budgets to ensure timely delivery of AI Program initiatives.Tracking and reporting on progress, risks, and mitigation strategies to stakeholders and leadership.Contributing to the State of Colorado’s overall AI vision, strategy, and roadmap, ensuring alignment with broader technology strategies and objectives.Collaborating with agency stakeholders and OIT to identify and prioritize AI opportunities that improve efficiency, service delivery, and citizen engagement.Continuously evaluating emerging AI trends, refining the state’s approach to drive innovation and responsible adoption.Aligning AI innovations to specific business opportunities and bringing about AI use cases, projects and initiatives in a sustainable and iterative manner.Establishing and guiding clear processes for AI project assessment, approval, testing, and monitoring, upholding responsible AI principles.Ensuring compliance with relevant state and federal laws, regulations, and policies related to AI development and deployment.Integrating responsible and ethical AI practices into every phase of project delivery—from vendor selection and data governance to deployment and monitoring.

All remote work must be performed in Colorado. While candidates from out of state will be considered for this role, the candidate selected for the position must relocate and reside in Colorado on the first day of their new position.
