Who We Are: We are a U.S.-based Shopify store looking for a top-tier accounting professional who can masterfully handle the nuances of integrating Shopify with QuickBooks Online. Our store uses A2X for data import and does not rely on Shopify Payments, instead utilizing an external merchant facility. We've recently switched merchant providers as of mid-August, and we need someone who can ensure our clearing accounts and revenue reporting are flawless. What We Need: We need a super-expert who can audit our last 3 to 6 months of end-of-month journal entries, focusing on perfecting the flow of money from Shopify into QuickBooks. The main emphasis is on getting our clearing accounts to zero out correctly over time and ensuring that all revenue reporting is accurate and smooth. We also handle gift cards, especially in a B2B context, where sales reps may issue codes that customers redeem online. We need these gift card redemptions to be class-tracked appropriately and not incorrectly impact our B2B store’s financials. Key Responsibilities: Audit and correct the last 3-6 months of journal entries, with a focus on clearing account accuracy. Ensure that end-of-month close reports reconcile perfectly, addressing any discrepancies from our recent merchant switch. Develop a robust monthly process for ongoing reconciliation and provide any best practices. Assist in setting up our Shopify B2B backend in the future, ensuring that all accounting flows smoothly into QuickBooks.
