- The Administrative Assistant is responsible for supporting the Vice President of Community Engagement and Government Relations.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Support for Vice President of Community Engagement and Government Relations
- Manage calendars with autonomy to make scheduling decisions.
- Schedule appointments and meetings.
- Arrange travel, with autonomy to make decisions; manage travel reimbursements.
- Copyedit, proof, and edit documents as needed.
- Course, student, and teaching-related support.
- Assist in preparation for Board and Faculty meetings and presentations.
- Attend and plan events related to Community Engagement and Government Relations.
- Requirements
Education, Skills, and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree, plus two or more years of relevant experience preferred, or a combination of education and experience.
- Understanding of and appreciation for inclusion, including the ability to work with students, faculty, and staff from diverse backgrounds, identities, and viewpoints.
- Ability to work independently and be proactive.
- Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously, manage time effectively, establish priorities, and communicate expectations to stakeholders.
- Experience in an academic setting preferred.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Outstanding interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to work effectively in business partner relationships.
- Proficiency with MSOffice platforms, specifically with Word, Excel and Outlook Calendar/MSTeams.
- Ability to learn and adapt to higher education learning management system platforms including TWEN, Examsoft, Canvas, and others.
- Must be able to adapt to new and emerging technology as established and communicated by the school.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and deadlines and reorganize under pressure.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Must be able to work legally within the United States without sponsorship.
