Summary

  • The Activities Guide is a member of a team who facilitates guest activities in a safe, fun and educational manner. An Activities Guide will run Activities Yurt when experiences are not booked, assist guests with equipment fitting, trail recommendations and professionally representing the Ranch’s offerings.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Confidently and enthusiastically guides the following activities

  • Mountain Biking
  • High Ropes Course
  • Hiking
  • Ranger Rides
  • Provides information on local flora, fauna, geology and history
  • Creates informative and fun experiences with a focus on safety
  • Serves as Activities Yurt attendant to provide information about the ranch activities and recommendations
  • Maintains activity department equipment
  • Responsible for presentation, cleanliness and functionality of various activity locations on the Ranch, including Activities Yurt, outdoor games, ropes course, game room, fitness center and racquet sports

Secondary Job Responsibilities

  • Assists with guest check-in
  • Assists with shuttle services as needed
  • Assists land and trails team with trail maintenance
  • Emergency and first aid response
  • General labor: fire building, splitting wood, sweeping, unloading trucks, moving furniture, staining wood, cleaning vehicles
  • Minor maintenance
  • Requirements

Minimum Qualifications

Intermediate to advanced skill set in one of the following

  • High Ropes Tower Course
  • Mountain Biking
  • Physically fit to guide activities, including the ability to carry a 30-pound pack for all activities.
  • Firm understanding of guiding, operating always with safety in the forefront.
  • Adaptable to changing circumstances.
  • Ability to take initiative and exercise common sense.
  • Strong customer service experience, and the ability to respond in a polite and professional manner to ensure a memorable guest experience.
  • Valid CPR and First Aid certification.
  • Must have a valid Driver’s License and be insurable by the company’s auto insurance carrier.

Working Conditions & Physical Requirements

  • The employee must be physically fit to guide activities.
  • Employees are regularly required to talk and listen, and are frequently required to sit, stand, and use hands. The employee is required to walk, reach with hands, climb, or balance, stoop, kneel, or crouch. Must be able to frequently lift and move up to 25 pounds and occasionally to lift and or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and distance vision.
