Role
- Performs duties relating to the operations of the Accounting Department, supporting Rogue's Vision, Mission, Values, and Loyalty culture that result in maintaining the financial, statistical, and accounting records of the credit union. Responsible for a specific accounting function, such as maintaining accounting records and accounts payable processing.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities
- 40% Prepares and enters journal entries in the general ledger system. Prepares routine general ledger reconciliations, including researching and resolving outages.
- 35% Performs routine duties relating to credit union accounting. Analyzes accounting documents for accuracy.
- 15% Prepares routine daily, monthly, and yearly spreadsheets and reports.
- 5% Assists other staff and members with questions, issues, balancing, and training.
- 5% Proactively performs other duties as needed or assigned.
Knowledge & Skills
- Experience: One year to three years of similar or related experience.
- Education: A high school education or GED.
- Interpersonal Skills: Courtesy, tact, and diplomacy are essential elements of the job. Work involves much personal contact with others inside and/or outside the organization for purposes of giving or obtaining information, building relationships, or soliciting cooperation.
- Other Skills: Basic math skills. 10-key calculator by touch. Computer proficient with Microsoft Office; excellent Excel/spreadsheet software skills, Keyboarding skills. Good organizational and time management skills; able to manage workload/meet deadlines. Good eye for detail and accuracy. Thorough and able to maintain confidentiality. Good communication skills; excellent telephone skills with ability to obtain/relay information. Must display flexibility with work.
- Physical Requirements: Some lifting required (up to 30 pounds), continuous sitting, occasional standing and occasional walking. Finger dexterity while using computer. Occasional talking and hearing in person and on the telephone. Continuous clarity of vision at 20 inches or less and continuous clarity of vision at 20 feet or more.
- Work Environment: Normal workday with occasional overtime. Exposed to potentially hazardous conditions, i.e., robbery.
