- As a Senior Accountant, you’ll have a key role supporting financial operations of our Component Repair Services business in Fort Myers, FL by performing professional accounting work in accordance with GAAP and reporting requirements. As well as a variety of accounting functions including maintaining the general ledger, assisting in preparing income and balance sheet statements, detailed analysis of transactions or balances, and supporting decision making processes.
What you’ll do
- Assisting in the preparation of financial statements in accordance with accounting standards.
- Generating regular financial reports for management review.
- Coordinate day to day financial operations, monthly reporting requirements and month-end close including reviewing and reporting significant variances.
- Prepare and review monthly balance sheet reconciliations, including assisting in resolving discrepancies and finding efficiencies.
- Collaborating with other departments to develop and monitor budgets.
- Conducting financial analysis to provide insights into business performance, identifying areas for cost savings and efficiency improvements.
- Ensures accounting systems and procedures are in compliance with company policies, acceptable accounting practices and applicable regulations.
- Understanding aged Inventory and work-in-progress Valuation Reports.
- Identifies continuous improvement opportunities within the finance department.
- Collaborating with other departments, such as procurement and operations, to gather financial data and support decision-making.
- Working closely with the controller and other finance team members.
- Interacts with and advises various functional groups and remote locations in order to correct problem situations.
- Monitors, maintains and reviews financial records and general ledgers.
- Assists in the preparation of working papers for periodic government, external or internal audits.
- AR/AP: Assist as needed in generating invoices, applying daily receipts, monitoring cash flow and optimizing working capital.
- Responsible for observing all applicable safety requirements and reporting any unsafe practices/conditions immediately.
- Software: Utilizes financial management software to maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records. Performs all transactions in the designated software such as Oracle and SAM.
- Produces a variety of ad-hoc reporting. Assists in preparation of reports for external and internal reporting requirements. Lead/participate in special projects such as, but not limited to, annual budget preparation.
- Performs special projects and other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- University degree in Business; Accounting/Finance preferred
- 3-5 years of accounting experience
- Experience working with GAAP (generally accepted accounting principles)
- Microsoft Office
- (Excel: Pivot Table, VLOOKUPS, Formulas (IF, SUMIF)
- Experience with major ERP system
- Able to work onsite in Fort Myers with the site schedule
Preferred Qualifications
- Cost accounting and inventory knowledge preferred
- Good planning, organizational, analytical, interpersonal, decision making, oral and written communication skills.
Schedule
- 100% onsite. Monday to Friday 7:00AM to 3:30PM. Additional time as needed.
