  • We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Overhead Accountant to join our corporate accounting team. This role is responsible for managing various aspects of overhead accounting, ensuring accuracy in financial reporting, and supporting audit and budget processes. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, a solid understanding of accounting principles, and the ability to work collaboratively across departments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Overhead/Land/Ranch Accounting: Maintain accurate records of entries for various overhead departments, Land portfolio and Ranch. This includes review of financial statements, posting reclassifications and journal entries for these departments.
  • Invoice Management: Review coding and approve invoices for payment in accordance with company policies.
  • Budget Preparation: Assist various overhead, land, and ranch departments in their annual budget process.
  • Reconciliations: Coordinate consolidated balance sheet reconciliation process for all financial statement accounts between accounting team members. In addition, perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations for Corporate AR, ad-val taxes, and other various overhead and corporate general ledger accounts.
  • Budget Oversight: Process budget exceptions and assist in quarterly variance reporting.
  • Policy Compliance: Perform monthly compliance task of company’s various policies.
  • Audit Support: Assist with year-end audit requests and provide necessary documentation to external auditors.
  • Overhead Allocations: Assist with the recording of monthly overhead allocations to the various property portfolios.
  • Collaborate with various department heads and personnel, as required.
  • Perform or assist in various accounting duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field.
  • 3+ years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in corporate or real estate environments.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Adobe.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Applicable experience in Accounting Software, preferably MRI.
  • Demonstrate strong analytical capabilities with high attention to detail.
