Your next career opportunity As an Academic Skills Adviser at the University of Melbourne, you'll play a crucial role in enhancing students' academic and professional skills. You'll have the opportunity to design and deliver curriculum-embedded workshops, create online resources, provide individual tuition and deliver co-curricular programs. Working collaboratively across the university, you'll contribute to innovative educational practices that support student progress, employability, and connection to the university community. Your responsibilities will include: Developing and delivering innovative programs: Plan, develop, deliver, and evaluate curriculum-embedded workshops, online learning resources, and co-curricular programs to enhance students' orientation, transition, academic and professional skills. Collaborating across the University: Work with colleagues in Chancellery, the Faculty of Medicine, Dentistry and Health Sciences, the Faculty of Science, the Faculty of Engineering and IT and/or the Faculty of Business and Economics, and Student and Scholarly Services to ensure integrated and effective skill development offerings. Creating engaging online resources: Utilise educational technologies and pedagogies to develop accessible, interactive, student-centered online learning experiences for the web and the LMS. Providing expert guidance: Offer individual tuition to students, fostering independence and self-direction in their skills development. You may be a great fit if: You will have postgraduate qualifications in a relevant discipline and experience in teaching academic skills to diverse student cohorts, utilising educational technologies, and collaborating effectively within dynamic university environments. You may also: Hold postgraduate qualifications in applied linguistics, education, TESOL, or a related field. Have demonstrated experience in coordinating and delivering academic skills programs at a tertiary level. Be proficient in using educational technologies and online learning platforms. Have knowledge of current trends in higher education learning and teaching. Have excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders. Demonstrate a commitment to continuous improvement and innovative problem-solving. Be highly organised with the ability to manage competing priorities in a dynamic environment.
