Main Ingredients of the Job!
As a US FOODS® Dispatcher you will be responsible for coordinating driver activities to resolve service issues. The main objective is to verify that the customer's needs are met in a prompt and professional manner.

Schedule: Monday – Friday 8am-4pm

Great Dispatchers are crucial to the US FOODS® team and one of the key members of our organization. Our Dispatchers strive for integrity and reliability, while building trusting relationships with team members.

What you bring to the table
 In the case of a vehicle accident or driver injury, the dispatcher must notify the manager/supervisor in charge and the safety specialist ASAP.
 Coordinate driver activities to minimize hours of service violations.
 Verify that drivers are using Omnitracs properly.
 Assign backhauls as needed to be done in the most efficient manner possible.
 Coordinate trailer and tractor assignments.
 Communicate to the sales force and operations management if there are any concerns regarding service issues that may arise in the event of a late dispatch, breakdown or other service failure.
 Reassign routes as needed.
 Visually inspect each driver's appearance to verify that drivers are in proper uniform and have required PPE (Personal Protective Equipment).
 Coordinate shuttle assignments to minimize downtime and overtime.
 Complete Attendance Reports.
 Distribute intercompany mail to sales force.
 Other duties as assigned by management.

What you bring to the table
Education/Training:
 High School Diploma/GED required

Related Experience/Requirements:
 Must have working knowledge of DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations and driver's logs.
 Must be organized and detailed; and have legible handwriting.
 Must be able to manage several things at once.
 Must have (2) years transportation experience

Compensation depends on relevant experience and/or education, specific skills, function, geographic location, and other factors as applicable by law. The expected base rate for this role is between $26 and $30.
This role will also receive overtime compensation.
