- Coordinate the recruitment, placement, and onboarding of MAIANSE students in NASA internships, both in-person and virtual over three sessions each year (Fall, Spring, Summer).
- Serve as the liaison between NASA and MAIANSE eligible institutions, including Tribal Colleges and Universities (TCUs), Native American Serving Non-Tribal Institutions (NASNTIs), and Alaska Native and Native Hawaiian Institutions (ANNHs).
- Promote student and faculty engagements and opportunities to increase NASA participation among indigenous students.
- Provide support for recruitment of MAIANSE-eligible students for NASA competitions, challenges, workshops, and other unique experiences.
- Attend and engage students at local, regional, and national conferences, STEM events, and other relevant gatherings.
- Develop and submit activity plans and status reports, providing updates on various initiatives and conferences.
- Build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders to advance MAIANSE goals.
- Conduct monthly meetings with MUREP, OSTEM, and MAIANSE to align activities and initiatives.
- Provide technical support to MAIANSE awarded institutions.
- Collect and report on engagement metrics and data for MAIANSE funding, events, and conferences.
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Education, STEM, Project Management).
- At least 4 years of experience in education, project management, or program coordination.
- Teaching certificate and/or license.
- Strong communication and technical writing skills.
- Analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, OneNote, Outlook).
- Experience with collaboration software (Microsoft Teams, G-Suite, SharePoint).
- Strong organizational and leadership skills.
- Ability to build and maintain relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders.
- Ability to provide professional training and development.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working with Minority Serving Institutions, particularly within the context of STEM education .
- Strong customer service skills.
- Experience with database management systems (e.g., NASA STEM Gateway).
- Previous experience working in or with higher education institutions.
- Knowledge of best practices in higher education services and program delivery.
- Experience in facilitating partnerships with government entities and advocacy groups.
- Experience supporting and engaging with college students through educational and workforce development programs.
- Familiarity with NASA's mission and STEM engagement goals.
- Previous experience coordinating large-scale education events or conferences.
The salary range for this position is- $60,00 - 70,000. Disclaimer: The salary range displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is not a guarantee of compensation.
